LEAD TO LEAN® COACH TRAINING

Cologne, October 2, 2020 – The first open course Lead to Lean® Basic (Bronze Level) started on June 18 with a kick-off event on the role of the coach in an operations system. Over a period of three months and by means of blended learning, the participants acquired the competence to apply lean methods, manage change projects and play a central role in the introduction of an operations system in their company. In addition to the high implementation and practical relevance of the training, the participants also appreciated the numerous tips from experienced lean coaches on change management and communication within a company:

"Through its practical relevance the Lead to Lean® Coach training made me "see". The coaching transfers theory into reality and trains through its experts the internalization of "leading to simplicity", reported Sandra Schmidt, Lead to Lean® Coach and Assistant to the Managing Director Production, Kjellberg Finsterwalde Plasma und Maschinen GmbH. "Everything promotes creativity and encourages "to do things simply". After the creative and practical Lean workshops, the colleagues feel like doing more – the first changes are visible. The many concrete tips for the active involvement of colleagues and managers are very helpful in practice. The lively exchange of ideas between all participants also promotes their own communication skills, self-reflection and further development through a feedback culture that is always lived. All around a package "to just simplify"!"

The participants demonstrated their extensive knowledge at the closing event on September 17. In small groups they developed concepts for the shopfloor management of an imaginary company, the ALU PRO GmbH. The concepts were presented by the participants to a panel of experts from industry, consulting and research, who slipped into the role of the executive board of ALU PRO GmbH. Their feedback gave the participants valuable impulses, which support the participants in the application of Lead to Lean® in their respective companies:

  • Dr. Karl-Heinz Brockmann
Vice President, Department of Engineering, RFH – University of Applied Science, Cologne

  • Dr. Jörg Dalhöfer
Technical University of Lübeck and board member/COO of international companies in the safety and medical technology sector

  • Dr. Martin Schönheit
Managing Director, Dr. Schönheit + P. Consulting GmbH

"The concepts for a shopfloor management system developed by the participants in the final task were all at a level of maturity that would allow an immediate kick-off in a manufacturing company," says Martin Schönheit. "In addition, the participants clearly showed that, within the three months, they had gained all the qualifications to successfully support the introduction and implementation of the basic methods in a production system operationally".

"The course has impressively demonstrated that the practical content of the Lead to Lean® training can also be conveyed in a modern remote concept," said Tobias Kuhnert, Director Business Development and Trainer Lead to Lean® Coach, Dr. Schönheit + P. Consulting GmbH. “The use of webinars and web-based trainings are not only useful learning tools. Especially the virtual final presentation qualifies the participants for modern working environments from any place in their companies.”

We are very pleased that the Lead to Lean® Basic training has now produced new Lean Coaches for internal projects in their companies and wish them a lot of fun and success with the implementation!
