RWTH Aachen Campus
With the official inauguration of the Electric Mobility Lab on the 13th of January 2016, RWTH University set a further milestone to develop together with RWTH Aachen Campus into a worldwide leading technical university.
Besides many high-ranking guests like Garrelt Duin (Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia) and Marcel Phillip (Mayor of the city of Aachen) S + P as specialist planners in the field of factory planning and responsible for the eLAB design accepted the invitation with pleasure.
The celebration started with a panel discussion on the subject "Electromobility Made in NRW” followed by a guided tour through the premises.
The eLAB work includes component development and prototype production around the electrical drive train (battery cells and systems, power electronics components, control elements and electric motors). The aim of the lab is to support the automotive supplier industry in their research and development activities on electric vehicle components and in their efforts to transform research results into marketable products. Germany is supposed to be able to compete seriously with California on the world stage.
