S + P holds further lecture series at the RFH

What exactly is a production system? Which company divisions are involved? How do I analyze and optimize existing production systems? In the lecture “Methods for the Optimization of Production Systems” students of the RFH University of Applied Science, Cologne, faculty of Industrial Engineering (Master Technical Management), get an answer to these and other questions. With the start of the digital winter semester 2020/21, S + P’s lecture will also take place via web conference.

S + P has been offering the course “Planning and Simulation of Manufacturing and Assembly Systems” since March 2017. Since then, this course has been providing students of the master’s programs in automation engineering and product development with a valuable bridge between theory and practice. In addition to the basics of modeling and simulation, students gain a holistic understanding of corporate processes for planning and implementing production systems.

“The alternation between sound teaching of the theoretical basics, dialogue with the lecturer and examples from the diverse practice of S + P represent an added value that is perceived extremely positively by the students,” says Dr. Martin Schönheit, Managing Director of Dr. Schönheit + Partner and member of the lecturer team.

The exchange with the universities in the region, such as RFH Cologne and RWTH Aachen University, and the transfer between business and science have a great importance to S + P. In addition to various lecturing activities and the publication of specialist articles, the Cologne-based company offers students of relevant disciplines the opportunity to actively participate in factory planning projects as a working student or an intern – even members of the S + P management once started as students at Dr. Schönheit + Partner.
